Simply overbuild the grid with large and module nuclear reactors, such that their base load operation is say ~15% higher than the largest previously seen demand. Then to match supply to demand, compute resources (e.g. AI training/inference, Blockchain Mining) are hooked up directly at generation sites and modulated to balance the load.
Any thoughts?
I realize it's a vision, but it would solve the energy problem in perhaps 5-10 years, maybe sooner with political will. No solar and wind and all that needed.
Are purely regulatory forces stopping a solution like this?
